The Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) has introduced new digital projects aimed at promoting young talent and developing youth football.
According to Offsideplus.az, the official launch of the website match.affa.az and the social media channels @affa.istedadlar took place during the event.
In his speech, AFFA's Secretary General Cahangir Farajullayev highlighted that 2026 could practically be considered the year of youth football:
"Many new projects have been initiated, and successful initiatives have been revived. One of the most remarkable moments is the festival of the U-15 World Championship and the new competition-training infrastructure established at the National Centre. After the championship, this stadium, which meets the world's most modern standards and has a capacity of over 10,000 spectators, will be made available for youth football."
Touching on discussions surrounding the national team, the Secretary General called on fans to show their support:
"While there may be certain negative aspects in our national team's performances, it is essential to stand by the team. We are preparing these children to uphold the honour of the national team in the future. We must support our team in both good times and challenging times. Our main priority is youth football, and I am confident that today's 14, 15, and 16-year-olds will form a strong national team in the future."
During the event, the initial successful results of the "Eyeball" project, which allows for monitoring the development of young players, were highlighted, and the first young footballer was awarded by AFFA.
