In the third round of the Champions League, Sabah suffered a 2-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

In a post-match press conference, the club's head coach Valdas Dambrauskas addressed journalists' questions:

"The quality of the opponent is also an important factor. Football is a game of mutual relationships, and you are only as good as the opponent you face. I believe we performed at a certain level close to that of our opponent at times. We were able to compete in possession statistics and adapt to the intensity of the game. We tried to press, and we won some balls back. We were in the game until the last second. However, I must admit that Borussia's quality players outnumbered us. They took advantage of the goal-scoring opportunities they created and ultimately won the match. I congratulate them. Nevertheless, I am extremely proud of my team and my players. I highly appreciate how they fought and executed the game plan."

The coach also spoke about Patrick Mbina's performance:

"I can say this about every player in my team and all those who took to the field today. They all did their utmost. There are 25 players in the squad. Naturally, the players understand that they cannot all play in every match, and they must work hard for that reason. Our training sessions are very competitive, and there is serious competition for places in the starting lineup. Orfe is also working very hard. In some matches, he is a more suitable choice for us, while in others, he may not fit as well. But today, he helped us a lot against tall and strong central defenders. He found the open spaces and won several duels for the ball. I am really pleased with his performance. When a player continues to perform well, it is possible to increase their playing time. Sometimes, they can even earn a permanent place in the team. I hope Orfe will continue the level of performance he showed this evening."

On the likelihood of a larger scoreline:

"I agree with my colleague Niko Kovac that they could have resolved the game’s outcome a bit earlier. If the score had been 3-1, it could have been 4-1 as well. However, on the other hand, we can also say that in the final moments, especially in the 98th minute, we remained in the game, and Morfe had an excellent goal opportunity. After that, Simic also had a good shot, but the ball did not go in. When you are playing against one of the strongest teams in Europe and you are only 1-2 down while still being in the game, that is a very important moment."
