The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) organized a media tour to Shamakhi on the occasion of May 23 – International Wrestling Day.

Offsideplus.az reports that the main purpose of the educational visit was to increase the journalists' knowledge of this sport and contribute to the promotion of wrestling.

At the event, Asif Shiraliyev, Chairman of the AWF Refereeing Committee, provided the media representatives with detailed information about the history and rules of wrestling, the point scoring system, and recent innovations in refereeing, and answered their questions.

The presentation of the book "International Wrestling Rules," authored by first-category referee Ali Babayev, was also held as part of the visit. The book is intended to be distributed to coaches in the future.

Following the seminar, wrestling-themed competitions were organized among the journalists, and the winners were awarded.

In the end, the media representatives visited the wrestling hall operating in Shamakhi, where they familiarized themselves with the facilities and watched the training process.
